Abstract
The Kikuchi method (cluster-variation method) has been used to improve the Gutzwiller's result for the momentum distribution in narrow-band systems. The distribution so obtained is no longer a step function consisting of two constant values. The discontinuity of the distribution function at the Fermi surface of the uncorrelated system is substantially increased in the regime of strong correlation. Keywords
