A Method for Endoscopic Electroresection of Sessile Colonic Polyps

Abstract
The endoscopic removal of sessile polyps in the proximal colon in man by a diathermy loop may cause perforation. Injection of a fluid depot under the colonic mucosa in dogs prevents sufficiently coagulation of the underlying intestinal wall during diathermic removal of mucosal specimens. With this method 7 sessile colonic polyps in man were endoscopically removed with a diathermy loop without complications. Die endoskopische diathermische Abtragung sessiler Kolonpolypen an der Basis kann zur Perforation führen. Im Tierversuch genügt die Injektion eines Flüssigkeitsdepots unter die Mukosa als Hitzeschild für die Darmwand bei der Elektroresektion der darüberliegenden Schleimhaut. Erste endoskopische Abtragungen breitbasiger Kolonpolypen beim Menschen verliefen nach Unterspritzung der Basis erfolgreich.
