Abstract
The serum content of K and Na was detd. in 10 patients with acute myocardial infarction. In all cases, during the acute phase of the illness the value of serum K was found to be elevated above normal and in most cases the serum Na was decreased. With recovery of the patients, the values returned to normal. These changes may be a result of the liberation of K from the area of the infarcted muscle. These detns. may be of value in differential diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of acute myocardial infarction. Keywords
