Abstract
Palliative care generates considerable stress in hospice medical directors and matrons. In this survey, increased time working in the hospice correlates with suicidal thoughts in medical directors and a fear of burnout in matrons. Major sources of stress include management committees, administrative duties, relatives and the relationship between the medical director and matron. Keywords
