Abstract
Using the known direct-correlation functions for one- and three-dimensional fluids with hard-core repulsion, the convergence of the roots of the moment expansion for successive truncations has been investigated. The estimate given by the lowest-order truncation is not reliable, and usually at least eight moments are required to obtain accurate values for the decay of pair correlations. Keywords
