Abstract
The aim of this article is to clarify the concept of subjective experience and, by illustrating some of the ways in which it has been successfully investigated, to encourage further research on specific experiential states and processes. Clarification has been undertaken by discussing the conceptual status of subjective experience, the methods available for its investigation, and its broader psychological significance. Keywords
