Abstract
The products and mechanism of the reaction of toluene with nitrogen dioxide have been investigated in the presence of oxygen. The volatile products observed were benzaldehyde, o-, m-, and p-nitrotoluene, along with 6-nitro-o- and 2-nitro-p-cresol.Keywords
