Abstract
p-Trifluoroacetamidophenyl 3-O-[2-acetamido-2-deoxy-3-O-(α-L-fucopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-β-D-galactopyranoside and p-trifluoroacetamidophenyl 3-O-[2-acetamido-2-deoxy-3-O-(α-L-fucopyranosyl)-4-O-(β-D-galactopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-β-D-galactopyranoside, which are trisaccharide and tetrasaccharide fragments respectively of the Lex tumour-associated antigen (1), were synthesized, using mainly thioglycosides as glycosyl donors and dimethyl(methylthio)sulfonium triflate (“DMTST”)1 as promoter.
