Abstract
The subject of scheduling for movable head rotating storage devices, i.e., disk-like devices, has been discussed at length in recent literature. The early scheduling models were developed by Denning, Frank, and Weingarten. Highly theoretical models have been set forth recently by Manocha, and a comprehensive simulation study has been reported on by Teorey and Pinkerton. Keywords
