Abstract
The neurologic damage caused by rapidly rising intracranial pressure can be halted or reversed only if specific therapy is instituted early. The key to such successful management is continuous monitoring by either subarachnoid bolt or ventricular cannula. Indications and techniques for monitoring are outlined, as is a step-by-step approach to management of intracranial hypertension as it develops. Keywords
