Abstract
Five commercial, base metal alloys used with porcelain were investigated. After oxidizing heat treatments and the porcelain bake, phase changes occurred in some alloys near the porcelain interface. These changes were due to the depletion of the matrix in alloying elements as a result of the oxidizing treatments. Keywords
