Generation Cycle of Oral Epithelium in Mice

Abstract
Autoradiograms of tritiated thymidine (60 [mu]c/.06 cc) labeled mouse tongue were used to study the frequency of labeled mitotic figures. A determination of the DNA synthesis time was calculated for the stratum germinativum. The desoxyribonucleic acid synthesis time was ten hours; G2-20 minutes; mitotic time-40 minutes; rest-80 hours. Total generation cycle was found to be 100 hours.
