THE EFFECT OF PAREDRINE ON THE VENOUS SYSTEM. 1

Abstract
Oral, intramusc. or intraven. inj. of paredrine produces a generalized increase of venous pressure in normal man. Evidence is presented that this increase is due to active constriction of the veins produced by local stimulation. Venous constriction is not a factor in the production of arterial hypertension by paredrine.
