Measurement of relative oscillator strengths for Ni I. Transitions from levels Formula

Abstract
Measurements of relative oscillator strengths, made using the Oxford spectroscopic furnace, are reported for 75 lines of Ni I covering the wavelength range λλ298–397 nm and excitation range 0.00–0.42 eV. The relative values, which have an uncertainty of about 0.7 per cent, are placed on an absolute scale using principally the lifetime measurements of Becker et al. Comparisons are made with the results of other experiments, and the accuracy of current measures of branching ratios and lifetimes assessed.
