Abstract
Young albino rats fed diets containing Bacto gelatin as the sole source of protein for 3 to 18 days, then transferred to a diet of Friskies, manifested sterility, whereas rats grown on Friskies reproduced. Despite other obvious and probable dietary deficiencies, the author attributes the results to the lack of tryptophane. No tests were made with gelatin diets supplemented with tryptophane. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
