Abstract
The applicability of the Oriented Gas Model to describing the length and orientation of the principal axes of the susceptibility tensor in molecular crystals is discussed. The influence of temperature on diamagnetic anisotropy is interpreted as being a result of small but continuous changes in the orientation of molecular tensors. The elucidation of this effect is given by means of a “rigid box” model. The presentation of effects associated with a phase transformation is followed by the discussion of some damping effects occurring in high-temperature phases. Keywords
