Abstract
Traditional alcohol treatment systems employ a binary procedure in the assessment and treatment of alcohol problems. The binary approach has come under critical review and an alternative multivariant approach has been suggested. The purpose of this paper is to propose a multivariant design developed in clinical practice. The goals of the presentation are to stimulate concern for multivariant techniques and to assess their impact on treatment outcome. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
