Abstract
The coupling between ammonium ion orientation and the symmetric strain 2ezz–exx–eyy in scheelite NH4ReO4 is expressed in terms of an Ising pseudospin model with a longitudinal field. The model implies continuous ordering in one orientation with no phase transition in agreement with heat capacity and x‐ray data. Keywords
