The Organization of Working Memory Function in Lateral Prefrontal Cortex: Evidence from Event-Related Functional MRI

Abstract
This chapter focuses on the methods, data, and interpretation of delay-specific activity in human prefrontal cortex (PFC). After reviewing important neuroimaging methods, it assesses two influential models of the organization of working memory function in lateral PFC. It then reviews evidence of the hypothesis that many discrete regions of the PFC each support multiple discrete working memory-related processes.
