Action of Luteinizing Hormonein Vitroon Respiratory Enzyme Activity of Isolated Granulosa Cells

Abstract
A technique for the dissection of follicles and isolated granulosa cells from the ovary of the rat is described. The isolated granulosa cells have been used for in vitro studies in the measurement of succinoxidase activity under the influence of various hypophysial hormones, using Zeuthen''s microdiver technique. The succinoxidase activity was significantly raised when LH (luteinizing hormone) was added to the medium. The sensitivity to LH of the isolated granulosa cells was found to increase with the age of the rats (22-29 days). The method also seems suitable for studies on other types of ovarian cells.
