Abstract
It may be concluded from the whole case material that:1. About 22 per cent of the women with operable breast cancer had internal mammary metastases.2. Even tumors of the lateral quadrants rarely metastasize to the internal mammary lymph nodes.3. Survival among cases with internal mammary metastases only is very high (70-80 per cent at 5 years).4. In our experience postoperative radiotherapy did not improve the 5 year survival. Keywords
