Abstract
A model of the crystal-melt interface is proposed which specifically accounts for a reduced liquid entropy in the region of the interface. Based on this model, the interfacial free energies of Ag, Al, Na, and Li are calculated, and the values thus determined are in excellent agreement with experimental values. Keywords
