Abstract
A portable vacuum device, powered by a 12-V battery, is described for collecting and dispensing adult honey bees, Apis mellifera L., and other insects into small wirescreen cages of variable sizes and shapes. Bees can be sampled rapidly from combs, hive entrances, flowers, and other sources. A transparent vacuum chamber permits viewing of samples during collection. Keywords
