The genus Gymnosporangium in Western Canada

Abstract
Eleven species of Gymnosporangium native to Western Canada and two exotic species, one of European and one of Asian origin from cultivated junipers imported into Canada, are described and illustrated from Canadian material. Species occurring in adjacent United States but not known in Canada are briefly mentioned. Results of inoculations carried out in 1966 and 1969 are compared with dates of aecial maturation from field observations. Times required for aecial maturation are used in a key to this stage; and telia are keyed primarily on macroscopic characters usable in the field.
