Abstract
The application of high‐temperature chromatography to the analysis of wax esters is described. Esters with up to 60 carbon atoms can be analyzed on the silicone OV‐1 after appropriate modification of the chromatographic column. The method offers possibilities of direct analysis of esters without preceding hydrolysis, thus enabling more detailed investigation of the chemical composition of naturally‐occuring waxes. Keywords
