Abstract
Discusses the opportunities to be found in “destination” retailing (drawing the consumer to the store) and “proximity” retailing (being where the consumer is) in the USA and Europe, and illustrates the two with many case examples of companies which have been particularly successful in either area. Offers advice for retail management on how to be retail “winners” and how to maintain success in the face of opposition from other retailers.Keywords
