Abstract
A simplified stored-program digital computer is described in order to demonstrate the fundamentals of computer programming. Using eight instructions, a number of basic techniques are illustrated by means of programs which perform elementary arithmetic and logical computations. The stored-program computer's capacity for modifying its own program is demonstrated. Keywords
