Abstract
Summary One pulmonary and five hepatic echinococcus (hydatid) cysts were diagnosed and treated at the Los Angeles County General Hospital during the twelve-year period 1936–1948. One patient, a 14 year old California-born Japanese schoolboy, reported in detail, is believed to represent the first autochthonous case from California. Keywords
