Abstract
Hg, Cd and Zn complexes of cytosine and isocytosine were synthesized from methanol solution. The coordination site of the ligands was examined by means of IR, PMR and mass spectroscopic analyses. Metals were coordinated at N(3), N(1), or NH2 of cytosine and isocytosine, and the composition of the complexes was either a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio of the ligand to the metal. Keywords
