Abstract
A method is described for the determination of calcium in saliva by using the Unicam SP900 flame spectrophotometer with an acetylene-air flame.Interference by added orthophosphate is negligible. This, together with the good recoveries of calcium added to saliva, indicates that the method is applicable to the direct determination of calcium in saliva and that no special precautions need be taken to insure against interferences. Keywords
