Abstract
Unilateral lesions in the visual and somesthetic cortex of rat brain cause a slight but significant increase inc the cortical cholinesterase activity in the contralateral hemisphere. There is some indication of strain differences in this effect. No change in cholinesterase activity is found in the subcortical brain. These findings may be helpful in understanding mechanisms of interdependence among brain areas. Keywords
