Abstract
The magnitude and origin of pulse-to-pulse timing jitter from a four-wavelength modelocked semiconductor laser is experimentally investigated. It is shown that the intracavity wavelength selective element adds timing instabilities and amplitude noise to the semiconductor laser under multiwavelength modelocked operation. Keywords
