Abstract
Chromatin labelled with P32 was administered intravenously to rats with regenerating livers. Three hours later the P32 was found in greater amts. in the nuclei of the liver cells than when the P82 was given as inorganic phosphate, phbspholipid, or adenosinetriphosphate. The results suggest that relatively large phosphorus-containing molecules may enter the cell and become incorporated in the nucleus. They also suggest a means whereby gene mutations may be produced. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
