Abstract
The systematic description of emotional experience In project development in education tends to be omitted from the report literature. This study of enterprise development in teacher education provides evidence of the disturbance and distortions which occur in educational institutions as the values of the external world impinge upon its culture and traditions. Intra‐institutional feelings are described as having a considerable effect on the management of cross‐institutional change. It is suggested that funding bodies need to take Into account the impact of their policies on the differing levels of person, system and organisation when projects are reviewed for quality assurance. Keywords
