Abstract
Secured extensive data on ball-tossing in terms of errors, so that the results may be compared with those of other kinds of experimentation. To obtain data on the distribution of practice, 28 Ss received written instructions and were urged to take 2 periods of practice daily, of 200 catches each. Results reveal that: (1) the learning curves of ball-tossing were not different from learning curves of other processes, provided that similar kinds of data be compared; and (2) serious errors resulted in the interpretation of learning from giving too much significance to the forms of any of these curves. Few applications have been given roughly, due to the incompleteness of reported data by various authors. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
