Abstract
Radiological investigation of the ossification of carpal bones of 1360 E. African native children of known ages gives a series from which it can be detd. that the order of ossification is the same as has been reported for children of all other racial groups. The rate of maturation is, however, 1.5 to 2 years behind that found among children of American white ancestry. As was to be expected, the rate of maturation is more accelerated among girls than among boys. Keywords
