Abstract
Employing the Ouchterlony gel diffusion technique, a specific serological test for 2 antigens associated with heat-resistant staphylococcal enterotoxicity was developed. The 2 antigens were tentatively designated as types "E" and "F". Only Type "F" was formed by strains isolated from foods implicated in food-poisoning incidents. Some strains, not of food poisoning origin, produced a heat susceptible apparently dialyzable, emesis-inducing substance which was not associated with either type antigen. Keywords
