Abstract
The concept of time-varying filter bank structures and their design are considered. In such structures, the analysis filter banks and the corresponding reconstruction filter banks are changed with time. The reconstruction problem is studied and it is shown that perfect reconstruction can be achieved. Both general and periodically time-varying structures are considered. A time-domain formulation of the time-varying structures is presented. Based on this formulation, a design approach is presented. The design approach is illustrated in the context of a complete design example. Keywords
