Abstract
The differential cross section for formation of H(n=2) metastable atoms from the near-resonant charge-transfer process H++Cs to H(n=2)+Cs+ is investigated both experimentally and theoretically. The measurements are performed in the laboratory energy range 20.4-100 eV. The experimental procedure measures the number of Lyman- alpha photons emitted after quenching the H(2s) metastables, scattered at a given angle (00) and adiabatic molecular states at smaller R.Keywords
