Electron Temperatures from He I Intensity Measurements

Data are presented relating the intensity of the $\lambda$ 5876 Å line of He I to electron temperature for use in electron thermometry of plasmas in the range ${\text{2\hspace{0.17em}eV\hspace{0.17em}≲\hspace{0.17em}T}}_e\text{\hspace{0.17em}≲\hspace{0.17em}10eV}$ and ${10}^{10}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\text{−3}}{\mathrm{\hspace{0.17em}\lesssim \hspace{0.17em}n}}_e{\text{\hspace{0.17em}≲\hspace{0.17em}10}}^{14}{\mathrm{cm}}^{\text{−3}}$ .
