Analysis of effects of quantisation in multilayer neural networks using statistical model

Abstract
A statistical quantisation model is used to analyse the effects of quantisation when digital techniques are used to implement a real-valued feedforward multilayer neural network. A measurement of the degradation of performance of the network is derived following some assumptions. The newly denned ‘effective nonlinearity coefficient’ plays an important role in the study.
