Abstract
In Belgium the RTThas planned for 1992 a broadband ATM experiment to be carried out by a consortium of BeIgian telecom munication manufacturers. This program is running since 1987 and the overall network architecture and options have already been defused and are described in this paper The overall network architecture is based on the complete integration of all services : interactive and distributive. This has an impact on the architecture: the ATM SGE (Subscriber Group Equipment) will also act as a distribution box for distributive audio and video channels Also the signalling was conceived such that the access protocol can be applied as well to interactive as to distributive services. This allows a maximum integration scenario between these 2 types of services. Since this project is a cooperation of different manufacturers, clear interfaces had to be deflned which allowed the interconnection of equipment ofdifferent suppliers, which are also described hereafter. Keywords
