Abstract
Na was substituted in part and entirely for K in fertilizers for oats grown on Norfolk sandy loam. Marked yield increases were obtained from use of each element. Additions of Na markedly increased Na content of oats. At high K levels Na uptake was depressed. Increases in exchangeable Na in soil from Na applications were small but significant. It was concluded that Na is beneficial to oats, notably when K levels are inadequate. Benefit was greater at high residual soil K level than at low K level. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
