Abstract
The electron-microscopic structure of experimental Aspergillus fumigatus infection in the lungs of chicks aged 1 and 12 days was studied. In day-old chicks most fungal elements were apparently normal although many had been phagocytosed by a variety of host cells. In 12-day-old birds much of the infection was contained in giant cells and the fungal cytoplasm was frequently necrotic. Keywords
