Abstract
Data presented show that the peptone component of the medium for culturing phenol coefficient test organisms may seriously affect the phenol coefficient obtained. This effect on the test culture is not detectable from the results of the phenol control. It can be deduced from this investigation that when tested against Eberthella typhosa the germicidal activity of disinfectants containing synthetic detergents is greatly altered by the phospholipid content of the culture medium. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
