Electro-absorption studies on the urbach edge in chalcogenide glasses

Abstract
New electro-absorption data are reported on the urbach edge in bulk and evaporated films of se and as-se alloys. A comparison with current microfield models suggests the presence of an additional absorption mechanism. A model is proposed, based on local optical anisotropy.Keywords
