Search for Fractionally Charged Quarks Produced by 200- and 300-GeV Proton-Nuclear Interactions

Abstract
We describe an experimental search for particles with fractional charge (quarks) with mass below 11 GeV/ produced by proton-nucleus collisions at 200 and 300 GeV. No evidence for such particles was found. Limits on the quark production cross section are given.
