Abstract
A Lagrangian-based, completely geometric theory of gravitation with nontrivial dynamics in two dimensions is possible with a non-Riemannian geometry for spacetime. A particular model with these features is discussed. General solutions of the vacuum field equations are presented in a variety of contexts (with and without singularities). Keywords
