Cross Sections for Production of Secondary Electrons by Charged Particles

Abstract

The availability of cross sections for the production of secondary electrons from ion or electron collisions is reviewed from the point of view of a potential user. Some recent measurements and empirical models are pointed out. New models are proposed which give differential and total cross sections for proton and electron impact.
