Abstract
The usual temperature jump relating the thermal accommodation coefficient, the heat flux, gas pressure, and temperature discontinuity between solid and gas is deduced on the basis of mean-free-path kinetic theory using explicit assumptions. A new method of analyzing temperature-jump heat conductivity data to yield the thermal accommodation coefficient is presented. Keywords
